Frontal view of Reservoir Station’s sculptural canopy – elevated rail design by Genton for Melbourne’s public transport network

Reservoir Station

Reservoir Station’s translucent canopy evokes rippling water, referencing the suburb’s fresh water heritage. This elevated piece of rail architecture is a civic landmark and key connector in Melbourne’s expanding transport network.

We are proud to acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the Country in which Reservoir Station is located. We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture.

An elevated rail station in Melbourne’s north, Reservoir Station exemplifies Melbourne rail architecture and forms part of Victoria’s broader rail infrastructure upgrades. It sets a new benchmark in transport design, reconnecting Edwardes Street and Broadway via a civic plaza beneath the elevated corridor, wrapped in a canopy that shimmers with movement and light.
